Treet Blue Special Blades-carbon steel?

I used one of these blades last night for my first shave with my new-to-me Contract Tech, and was pleasently surprised with the results. I've not used a blade with this coloration before, and was wondering if these are carbon steel, or if they are coated stainless blades with something for coloration on the body of the blade? The blade package is like the one seen in the wiki here: http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Treet_Blue_Special_Razor_Blade
C'mon blade gurus! Don't fail me now!:001_cool:

Well, I'm sure no guru, but I believe they're carbon steel. I've never seen that coating used for stainless blades before. The old Gillette Super Blue blades had the same coating, and we know those are carbon.

I'm wondering where they came up with the "Blue Special" name for these Treet blades, as I don't see it anywhere on the wrapper or the pack. When looking for blades, does "Blue" always mean carbon steel? And what other blades, if any, are currently being manufactured and are carbon steel, besides these Treets?

They are Carbon steel. For me they are good blades. The Classic Dura Sharp carbon are also nice blades.

Shoebox calls them Black Beautys.

Razor Blades and more call the blade linked below Blue Special. I am not sure if they are black like the blades shown above.

"Captain", made by Lord, are carbon steel. Someone posted a thread about them not too long ago. I believe they're still being made.

The Black Beauties are a great blade for me when I am on the road. They give me one fantastic face and head shave, and then get binned at the hotel(between two cups). The next day I have a fresh blade. No need to worry about something in the dopp kit bumping into the blade. Like Xilion said the Classics are also a great blade! I can get between 3 to 5 days on a 10 cent blade.
