Travel case for M&F Chief.

Greetings lads,

TLOTH and I are travelling over Xmas and I want to take my "Chief" with me.

Have any other Chief owners discovered a travel tube option that they could share?

I use a old pill bottle that I had. It was a pretty big bottle, fits any brush I have. All I did was use an old soldering iron to melt some holes in it to dry any moisture still left in the brush.

I just returned from a trip to the UK with mine. I use this one, although I'm pretty sure I paid less than $10 for it.

Just noticed the one I posted is also shown as being a Muhle product. I bought mine close to two years ago. When it arrived in Kansas City, I was surprised to see that it had been shipped from a distribution center in Coffeeville, KS.

FWIW, the design and material used in my brush tube are exactly the same as in tubes I have that came with Meade telescope lens. So I think there is probably a generic supplier somewhere. I doubt the cost of making these things is much more than pennies.

Same one I have for medium-larger brushes...there are some other tubes out there that aren't quite as sturdy.
It's work the extra $ to make sure the Chief travels safely.

Yes. The Muhle travel tube is excellent. I bought two of them from Jarrod at The Superior Shave. I don't know if he has them in stock now, but if you email him he always responds quickly.

If you want to go cheap. I took my travel brush to the dollar store and compared sizes to the plastic spice bottles. Find one that fits perfectly. Emptied it washed and dried, then removed the flip top. the screw top has large holes for letting the air in. Works great. I do like the Muhle on Amazon and will probably get one of those now that I have seen it.

Bought this in Pasteur's Pharmacy midtown branch. The tube of course. That's an Emillion 2 btw which is about the same overall height as the Chief.
