Trafalgar T1 Sovereign thoughts?

Hi,
I'm looking for a travel synthetic brush. Does anyone have a Trafalgar T1 Sovereign? How do you like it? What is the maximum diameter of the handle? Thanks in advance!

It's hard to answer that without knowing what you like in a brush...I personally don't love any of Simpson's synthetics as i prioritize splay, which Simpsons brushes don't like to do without some force. Ymmv etc.

If you like brushes with considerable backbone, maybe you'll love it. A lot of people do. It would certainly work for a travel brush. It may be worth mentioning that the only Trafalgar I have is the t2, which is just slightly larger.

Using this method - you won't have issues getting any brush to splay.

Synthetic Brush Splay woes....just start on the chin!

So one big thing I've never liked about synthetics is that they're a pain to splay initially when face-lathering, for me anyways. I recently saw a YT vid (can't remember the exact one to attach for reference) that said to start on the very tip of the chin, instead of the cheek, where I normally...

I only have a T2 and T3, so cannot offer you diameters. I believe the T1 may be just a touch large for Simpson's Small travel container and the Large tube would need to be used.

Italian Barber's Bruce is a great option as well

I have a Trafalgar T1 and think it's a great little brush. I use it primarily as my travel brush and mine fits fine in Simpson's small size travel tube.

I measured the handle and it's 33.5mm at the widest point and 40mm tall. The inside diameter of my small size Simpson travel tube measures 34.5-35.0mm.

I have the T1 (also the T2) and think it is a great brush. For me Simpsons got the synthetic bristle right with the Trafalgar series. I use it at home as well as travel - a very versatile brush for me.
