Trad Scuttle Help

Last night I purchased a traditional shave scuttle (looks like a tea pot). I was wondering if anyone had information on using it? I'm assuming a puck of soap goes in the top and the spout at the front is for soaking/adding water to your brush?

Yup! They were used when houses still didn't have hot running water in the bathroom.

It's usage, and purpose is entirely different than a modern day scuttle. It was all about bringing hot water to the shaving area (which could have been the bathroom, the kitchen, bedroom, there were shaving setups that had portable mirrors too), and not so much about keeping the lather warm.

In my opinion, such a scuttle is almost entirely useless to the modern day shaver.
