What's new

Toys, toys, and more toys

Anyone have to put together toys tonight while the little ones sleep? I have to put together a Radio Flyer tricycle for my daughter. She is going to go bonkers when she sees it. I can't wait to have the video camera ready.

That's awesome, I can't wait for that. My girl is only 6 months and none of her toys needed assembly. It's too bad, I love that part. Maybe she will get some toys ahead of her "age" that need assembling in the future.:biggrin1:

I have a outside Little Tikes play house. I think I will be skipping the assembly though tonight. With 3 kids and an over generous Santa I will be glad to get the Wii wrapped.

Icoasters are demons sent from the pits of Hades to torment parents who must assemble them.

But, watching the steelies go 'round is pretty cool!

This time of year the three most dreaded words in the English language are

"Some assembly required"...

I'm glad my kids have outgrown that sort of toys...

Ahhh...... the old days! My son is 28 now, but I'll never forget his 16th Christmas. When he started 5th grade, he began his journey learning to play the snare drum. It used to be all kids here started learning a musical instrument in the 5th grade. Right away, he was asking for a drum set. I said he had to prove he was going to stick with it, and if he still wanted a drum set in a few years, I would get it for him. Five years later, he was a member of the drum line in the marching band of his high school and having an absolute blast playing at football games and competitions.

It was finally time. I shelled out $3500.00 for a complete Pearl Premier Series 6-Piece Set in Birch wood and Black Metal-flake paint. It came with a 22 in. bass with double pedal, two mounted toms, two floor toms, snare, Zildjian high-hat cymbals, two Zildjian Ride cymbals, a Zildjian Crash cymbal all mounted on Pearl counter-weighted boom stands, and all the hardware to go with it. I stashed it all at my parents house 35 miles away until Christmas Eve. I didn't leave to go pick it up until 1 AM. I stayed up all night hauling and assembling that drum set. Imagine assembling a drum set in the middle of the night and not making any noise! Christmas morning, he could not believe his eyes! I never got to sleep during the day either as he played those drums all day! It was one of the greatest Christmases of my life!

That is an awesome story. I ended up bailing on the tricycle. I looked at the instructions and decided it was not something I should attempt on short sleep. However, we did show her the box and as expected she yelled out "Bicycle" and started walking around in the helmet we got for her. I will put the tricycle together this week. For the record, this is the last bike that i will buy that is not already assembled. :biggrin1:

I had the honor of assemblying a little kitchen playset that "only tools required are a screw driver" needless to say since they were asleep I was unable to use the cordless and did it all by hand. However, there faces lighting up on christmas day was well worth it. They are only 15 months old but watching them is great. They did have just as much fun with the box the kitchen came in though

Had to assemble a Lego Tie Fighter for the girlfriend's nephews. It really wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't insisted on "helping" me... picking up pieces, asking what EVERYTHING is, knocking everything off the table...

Got it done, but man:001_unsur...

This is my favorite part of Christmas.

I put a Thomas The Train Table together and of course there is never enough holes for the screws. So I get the drill out and battery is dead and charger is unplugged with the second battery. Luckily my neighbor was putting up a basketball hoop up in the backyard and was able to get it built.

Got to bed around 3 am, kids woke up at 7am. Funny how their sleep schedule adjusts during this time of the year:sneaky2:
