What's new

Tony Miller Thank you!

Of course Tony Miller's strops are fantastic and need no introduction around here. Also his reputation and character as a business man are beyond reproach. I simply wanted to mention that I was fortunate enough to purchase one of his Latigo strops and a practice strop recently and this bit of kit has dramatically improved my straight shaves. I think practice and good gear make perfect!

I wish all businesses put as much care into their products and customer service as Tony does, it is a pleasure to be a customer of the Heirloom Razor Strop Co.

Awesome. I recently purchased a strop off of SRD because Tony's site says he is out of strops until June. The day after I bought it a Tony Miller shows up on B/S/T (Go Figure) But I will have to buy another strop in time and I'm hoping it will be a Tony Miller.

Tony was on vacation when I started straight shaving so I bought a Rup Razor Filly. Best move I ever made since it now bears the scars of my learning curve, forced me to learn the X-stroke, and did a great job on my razor.

I checked Tony's web site for weeks and immediately ordered a latigo artisan as soon as he was back. This is the Bugatti of strops at a Chevrolet price. If you're a newbie, his "practice" strop is worth getting and protecting with a Filly since it makes for a high-quality travel strop.

It's also an honor dealing with a humble man of character—one who gives glory to God instead of himself.

+1! I have one of Tony's latigo strops and a latigo from another vendor. The feel is totally different, nothing compares to TM strops, IMO. By the way, I also have one of his horsehide strops. Talk about smooth, and a great way to finish a stropping after the latigo! I find it makes the shaves extra smooth.

Thank you all for such kind comments. I also appreciate everyones understanding as I cut back in order to spend more time on life and less on business.

I'll still be around, and my quality will always remain the same, but my focus will be on my family and faith.

No matter what your calling is in life and business, never let your God given talents get in the way of God and your family.

I bought one of Tony's fairly basic strops about a year ago with the notion that I could upgrade when I'd got the hang of stropping. I've got the hang of stropping but feel no need to upgrade.

It's something I'd like to grow old with.

Not to mention the paddle strop.

Thanks Tony, enjoy the extra time with family and faith.

Indeed it's the first bit of new gear I've owned that stands up with some of my vintage stuff. I intend on having the one strop for the duration of my days.

Faith and Family, sounds like a good thing to me!

My Miller strops, 3" Latigo and 4 sided Paddle strop are two cherished items among less than a dozen that remain in my "shave den".

I'd heard TM strops were the best to go with. Unfortunately, I've only decided to try a straight after Tony slowed down. Would one of his 2" Artisan Horsehide "Companion" strops work as a first strop for a newbie?

That's going to be a luxury strop. Just be careful and practice stropping slowly so you won't accidentally turn your one strop into two strops:lol:

The 2" may take a little getting use to because you have to use the "X" pattern when stropping as opposed to the 3". Personally I would rather have the 2" since it costs a little less and I feel the "X" pattern is a more natural arm movement.

Tony I couldn't agree more with your way of thinking and way of life. I have one of your strops since Dec, and its still great and i know will remain great.
I have recently lost a dear friend and your words really mean alot to me now.
I have decided to slow things down myself and enjoy family and life more.

Cheers

Etoknife,

I'm glad this helped then as I always feel a little uneasy sharing so much at times.

Time speeds by so rapidly and friends and family leave us far too quickly. It is important to enjoy what we have now instead of working to aquire for the future if it means missing today. I am blessed to have a career I enjoy and that is enough for me without adding more work to each day with strops.

Take time to look around and see what each day has to offer and think of how your friend would enjoy it if here with you today. Even though your friend has gone on ahead it does not mean you cannot still share each day with them in spirit and in your heart.

Thank you for sharing.

Tony
