Todays finds

I had a good day at a antique store today.
1960 Toggle
ABC Empire set in gun metal (B319603)
Silver Old type set

I have never seen a toggle in any of my garage sale/estate sale/antique store ventures :( Nice find(s)

The key to finding them is dont believe the people at the counter, every time I ask and they say they dont have any, I find some:thumbup1:

+1
The help at the counter are always less than useless when knowing what is in the shop.

In defense of them (and not in offense to you :biggrin1: ), since my mom has been working in antique malls for years, I've gained an understanding of why that is. The people working the front desks are most often dealers who have space rented, also. I think it would be near impossible to know what every other dealer has in their spots, especially given the amount of items sold and moved around.

With that said, there is one particular mall here in the San Fernando valley that has the most unhelpful people working the front desk that I've ever met. I avoid asking them anything unless absolutely necessary.

That's what I meant by less than useless at knowing what was in the shop as opposed to not being helpful or courteous.
There's a lot of stuff in there, and they just can't know what comes and goes.
If your in a shop, don't ask. Just look around.

where do you find these shops??????

No kidding!

Heck, I've never actually seen one. I long to add one to my collection though.

So, your trick is scepticism and distrust. :thumbup1:
