Today's Etsy bargain: cased single ring for $1000

Gee, if they get that much, I'll have to tell my GF that this whole razor thing I'm into has been about the rock-solid investment.
She'll be dazzled, and she finally stop rolling her eyes when new ones show up.

dont forget $12 shipping to the US..etsy has some really high prices for their straights..I dont get it..I watched a youtube vid on a guy who bought his from there..prolly paid alot and didnt know it

I wrote the person to let them know that it probably wasn't going to be selling too quickly at that price... it might be fun to hear the response. I wonder sometimes in cases like this whether the seller got ripped on how much they paid for it. Any casual look at the normal selling price for something like this would have resulted in an appropriate price. Maybe they really meant $100..typo? Even a $100 is a real stretch..the case is nice, but the razor's pretty rough on the head.

Im going to Email the seller and let him know i can only pay $950.00 Max and ill be sending a money order in the Mail :tongue_sm

Dear Sir Please accept my payment of $950.00 as this is the most i can pay for this item, in Rare occasions these gillette have gone for as high of $10,000.00 But the market is soft at the moment, Please let me know if you will accept. Thanks

Mr Desprate

Im just kidding Guys )

O that would just be too cruel - do it. :devil2:

Funny...I emailed the seller. She said it was listed for another person, and that's the price they wanted to list it at. Sometimes people just don't understand what a market is, or do any amount of research on said market :). Oh well, I tried to help them out by getting it to price point where it will sell in a reasonable amount of time (like..less than 50 years :) ). I think she's going to try to get the other person to lower it to 800. I wished them luck with the sale. What else can you do...

And it looks like they did lower it to 800, and cleaned it. It does look pretty nice now. I guess that's where it's going to sit...I tried :).

I did...it's not going to matter. Sometimes people just don't know how the world around them functions :). I can't count how many times I've been in price negotiations with people on stuff..and they say things like "but, but... I paid X for this...it's gotta be worth at least Y". Again, no understanding of what a market is.

$800.00 :censored:

Tell them they are dreaming!

I sent this:

Maam,
With all due respect, I collect vintage razors and I wouldn't pay that for a Sealed, Unopened Single Ring with a receipt signed by King Gillette himself, even if it came with a trained Otterhound and 3 months of dog food.
That's a 75-85 dollar razor IF the buyer had a couple scotches.
