I have not tried the TOBs balm. I do use the Pre de Provence balm. I like it a lot. It has a pleasant, subtle scent and does not feel 'heavy' or 'greasy'. I use a couple of other balms as well, but I would rate the Pre de Provence as one of my favorites. (I also like the Nivea 'Cooling' Balm - inexpensive and a good performer, Pehnaligon's Blenheim Bouquet Balm - more expensive, excellent performer with a bit stronger scent, and Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave Balm - light pleasant herbal scent and light, non-greasy feel).
Based on your choices, you may want to make your decision based on scent and any cologne or aftershave you may plan to use.. Mr Taylor is a cologne-like based scent , the Pre de Provence is a lighter, clean scent.
+1 on PdP. For some reason both the soap and the balm really agree with my skin and are very soothing. Nice moisturizing properties as well. I happen to also like the scent very much.
