I was surprised how much it doesn't smell like avocado. I thought it was going to be like slathering on guacamole

Same here. I do like the scent, though.

I have found my three TOBs samples to be pretty mildly scented, but all lather like a mad dog. I have tiny samples from Shoebox and even those seem to last almost forever.

I was also "dazed and confused" and thought it was Avocado scented.
So when I finally got smart, I traded for a tub and WOW! What lather!!! And the (real) scent? Fantastic.Yeah what scent is it? Not Avocado, almost "nutty?"

I thought it smelled like cucumber.
Tha name avocado refers to the avocado oil contained in the formulation. I never noticed any particular odor from avocados....and the oil is odorless.
Strangely although an excellent product, the avocado is not my favorite. That distinction has to go to the rose!
