What's new

TOBS avacado fans please advise.

Folks if you are a TOBS fan then you know how rich and wonderful this cream is. Does TOBS make any other cream that is that rich?

I have only the Avocado, but I have read on B&B (more than once, I think) that it's the richest of the TOBS creams.

IMHO NO!

Nothing will feal as rich and creamy as their Avocado in the TOBS line.
Jermyn Street is close, but still not there.

I've only tested 6 TOBS, so take it based on that......

I mix my TOBS Avocado with my Musgo real Classic, to get more patchouli mixed into the grassy cucumber note I get from the Avocado - make the scent a little bit more tolerable for me.
I don't hate the scent from TOBS Avocadio, I find it refreshing, but a bit too much grass, so mxiing it with Musgo Real Classic does the trick for me.

If you want another cream with the same richness, try the GFT Coconut cream. Not a scent of my favorites either, but the performence means that I will keep it and just mix it with I Coloniali to tone down the coconut scent a bit, even though it's mild as it is......

I Coloniali is another alternative to Avocado, and priced pretty the same.........but it also have a polarizing scent of earthy metallic chocolate.........

thanks for your reply. What does the GFT in the GFT Coconut cream stand for and who sells it?

I have read the same - problem is it makes the almond TOBS seem very plane and even my once beloved Mitchell wool fat seems a bit flat. I would love to find something that stands up to it in the go round. So far its only the Proraso once in a few weeks that seems to stand but its no way near as good just romantic about the first.

I have TOBS avocado, sensitive skin and lemon/lime.

I think avocado and sensitive skin have same richness of lather. Sensitive has the advantage of smelling much better.

Lemon and lime performs very good also but a little step below.

i have heard that sensitive and rose are they only two that are close. any thoughts anyone?

For what it's worth, I have TOBS sandalwood and it lathers like a dream...(never tried avocado, though).
its common to feel that any TOBS is as good as it gets until you try avocado- i did almond TOBS for two years then tried avocado and now its hard to go back.

I have used TOBS Avacado and I think it performs better than most of their other creams. That being said, TOBS Jermyn Street performs as well or better than TOBS Avacado, IMHO.

does anyone sell an assortment of TOBS Testers?

I got TOBS shave cream samples from the Shoebox Shaveshop. They put them together themselves in little white sample jars.... I don't know if they still do that. (??)
