TOBS advice

I already own Eaton College and Lavender, but I would like to add another TOBS product to my lineup. I have narrowed it down to 3 creams. The Sandlewood, Shave shop, and Mr Taylor's. I know that everyone has their own opinion on scents and I tend to lean toward clean, old fasioned barber type smells. I would love any thoughts or advice on the performace and scent of these creams

Thank you! I was leaning toward shave shop and I'm glad to hear its a great cream. With so many to try its hard to choose

haha will let ya know Capt! Oh and Frank love your Myrsol avatar. I just bought the antisol and love it as a pre!! been using the F/extra for a few weeks and think its tops!!

I agree with them. Try the shave shop, I think you will like it.
-If not I have a tube of Mr. Taylors I can trade for the shave shop. :biggrin1:

Has anyone tried the St. James? I'm looking to try my first TOBS and am deciding between the St. James or the Eton. Or does someone else have a different vote for what should be my first Taylor? Thanks,

EZ

I have the eton and I love it. Its a very citrusy scent, but not overpowering. It smells fresh and soapy but YMMV. As far as the lather it provides you can't go wrong there. I get slick consistent lather everytime I use it. hope this helps

I apply a thin layer of Mr. Taylor's as a pre-shave, then face-lather with soap on top of it. I would describe it as a classic barber-shop scent that is not too strong (and therefore good for superlathers where you want the soap's scent to predominate).

interesting! Thanks for the tip! I'm always on the hunt for that just outta the barbershop scent

Definitely Shave Shop. I was just in a store on Sunday and almost purchased it, but decided to go with Grapefruit (I've been wanting it for awhile). Next time I buy a TOBS cream though, I will be getting Shave Shop. It has a really nice classic barber shop smell to it.

Shave Shop, Almond, Mr. Taylor's, Lemon Lime are all good to me, next on my list to try is Grapefruit and Coconut, I just need to use up some stuff.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think it is going to be the next cream that I try.

Here's another question, have you ever tried a cream called Tabac?

Thanks,

EZ

I like coconut and find TOBS coconut very synthetic and not very pleasant. I would nut purchase again. YMMV.
