What's new

To my fellow head shavers. . .

Hi Gents: Hope all is well with you & your families. Just wanted to ask my chrome dome gents... who gave you your very 1st head rub. I'll start: I pulled the trigger and had my 1st head shave back in 2007. When my beautiful wifey saw me with my new and improved "hairstyle" she quickly gave me my very 1st head rub.:001_tt1: As they say. . . the rest is history. So... if you are a chrome dome, who gave you your 1st head rub? What's your story? Include your 1st year wearing the chrome dome, also. Let me hear ya.

Does myself count? If not then I think my son was the first person to reach up there and take a feel of it. I'm not sure how long I've been shaving my head. Feels like close to two years now. My head shaving has been a progression too. First it was shortest setting with clippers, then the Mach 3 for the completely smooth feel and then DE last June 2012 for just a DFS up there.

My girlfriend. I started off with a cheap electric razor and would keep it relatively short. Right before we started dating, I switched to using a Mach 3. My headshaves were decent but nothing to write home about. When I began wet shaving, the difference was definitely noticed. She loves the smell of the different soaps and aftershaves. I've been shaving it completely clean for about a year now. A solid year to say the least. I was in a slump for a few years before that and lost a few friends (drug addiction). Luckily, I was able to clean up my act. Though I've had a few relapses, I am definitely on the road to success. Heroin is a hell of a drug =/.

Anyways, my hair started thinning in my late teens / early twenties and it was really bringing me down. I was always one to properly style my hair with some kind of gel or hair spray. However, I'm finally at the point now where I love my new look and comfortable in my own skin.

Off topic, but today Shanna made me a proud man. She let me prep her legs with a proper MWF lather and I showed her the ropes with a DE. The weapon of choice? Merkur 37C SLANT WITH A FEATHER. I was impressed to say the least. She's a natural and her legs have never been so smooth. She rubbed in some WH and then finished off with the Proraso Pre Post Balm. I looked in the container and cracked up. She's been using it lately without telling me. Have I converted my first victim?

We shall see.

I love these damn headshave posts. Keep em comin'.

My cousin. About 15 years ago we were both reeling from bad breakups, so on a whim the two of us and one other buddy grabbed a deal Cathay Pacific was offering at the time and spent a month traveling around Asia. We spent a week in Thailand, and one night on a drunken dare, I let them use clippers to buzz cut my hair. After we'd called it a night I lay awake thinking that I might as well go all the way, so I got back out of bed, grabbed my razor (I believe it was a Mach 3), and finished the job. It felt great in the tropical heat!

My daughter. It was 10 years ago ( I think) - she was 14 then and had not really seen me bald. She thought that my scalp would hurt or suffer from the lack of hair. She rubbed the scalp then my face and could not decide which was smoother!
Before going all the way shaved, I had been having my hair short and dyed platinum blonde. I had enough of maintaining it and so shaved it low at the barbers (number zero). Then a week later just took the razor and baby oil to it.

I got married 1 year ago on 7/7, while on honeymoon in Mexico my European electric hair clippers failed to work with the different voltage & I was forced to take my Mach 3 to my noggin.

A sequence of events was started due to that event which lead me to DE shaving my whole head. One year later I'm still happy with my chrome dome!

So my first head rub was from my newly wed wife on our honeymoon! I honestly think she hated it at first. She loves it now though!

I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure it was somebody I worked with at the time. I was deployed to the Middle East and did it partly to get rid of some heat and partly to not need to go to the barber after a 12 hour shift. The regulation had changed to allow non-balding people to shave their heads about a month prior. My wife didn't see it for the first time until a unit video conference three months later. Neither she nor my commander knew what to say at first, but she's since come around to admitting an attraction to bald men, so I'm on her list with Sean Connery and Patrick Stewart.

My wife was the first to rub my head after a clean shave. I had been using clippers on my head for about a year when I decided it wouldn't be that much different to go ahead & shave it. I haven't looked back and enjoy the smooth head. The best feeling is when I shave it at night and then go to bed. It's a great experience to have a freshly shaved head on a cooled Egyptian-cotton pillow case.

I can't remember who would have rubbed it first as I started shaving my head 15 years ago...I remember the first person I enjoyed/wanted to rub it. Went on a date with a girl from high school (we had both graduated in June, this was now late July, early August, a couple days MAX after I shaved it) and after laughing at first she rubbed it. Nothing like the first head rub... She said it looked much better than the receeding hairline I'd had for the last couple years. (I'd been going bald since 14...)

Nowadays, my wife give both my head and face a feel after I finish shaving. She loves the smooth feeling. :)

Cheers,

M.

I started he'd shaving in 2005 - had been keeping it short (#1 guard on clippers) but we were going on vacation and I didn't want to have to worry with clippers - so, while I was in the shower I just shaved my noggin clean. It was a bit of shock to my lovely wife. She was the first to give it a feel, but what surprised me was how many people wanted to touch my head afterwards. Did anyone else have that happen - random people wanting to touch your head?
