To Burnish or not to Burnish...

I vaguely remember a conversation with Halls (if I'm remembering right) a decade ago. I asked how they tell surgical black arks from just normal black material.

The difference was given to me in how many stones they could cut on a saw-blade before it was trashed.

Received prime cut 8x:3-1 from Dans
Flat snd smooth, per Kim at Dans they have new flatting processing and did not go into specifics but she assured me stone ready out the box
Stone received dead flat and smooth

What the heck,, 30 laps water / glycerin mix,
Also did about 20x,,, like stropping on stone
Result amazing edge on razor
Sharp and smooth
Edge was alllready excellent shobu mizu edge
Ark brought edge to greater heights of sharpness and smoothness , very impressive
