Tiger Wins the Memorial

I will first say that I am not a golfer, but all the men in my family have been/are, so I've enjoyed watching golf for years.

I was tuned in to the Memorial today for the back nine holes and watched Tiger Woods chip in an impossible shot on the 16th hole. When that ball rolled into the cup my jaw was hanging open. I've watched some great golf over the years but I can't remember ever seeing anyone make a play like that.

Did anyone else see that shot and were you as astounded as I was?

Sorry I missed it. I used to take my dad back when I could get free badges. Sundays at Muirfield are almost as good as any major. Good to see Tiger win for the sake of the game and the opportunity to get some pub going into the Open.

Yes, absolutely beautifully executed shot! Phil had something similar in the 3rd round of the Masters where the green was sloping away into the water and he played a flop shot. Of course, Tiger holed it and went on to win, Phil didn't.

I read an article where the author compared Tiger's comebacks after each of his swing changes. He said each time after Tiger won 3 events with the new swing, he went on a dominating run. Its three now for Tiger with this Sean Foley swing, so it will be interesting to see how the year plays out, especially with 2 majors coming up in the next few weeks.

I'll have to pay better attention. I wasn't aware of the White Belt. I do however, look forward to the Sunday red shirts lol.
They must have replayed that shot about 5 times after he hit it, including his reaction which was priceless. I hope he continues his winning ways. It makes the tournaments more interesting, at least it does for me.

Here is a video of the entire sequence. Truly an amazing shot.
