Thought's on Vulfix's Super Badger Hair

So I am considering buying a brush whose knot is by Vulfix but I really don't know anything about this company. Do they make decent knots? Should I get a shavemac instead? :) What are your thoughts, gents?

I use a Vulfix 375S alot and love it. Works well with soaps or creams for me. It's soft and feels great on the face. Wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Vulfix is the largest brush maker in the world and now they own Simpson. I've found their brushes to be quality though the Silvertips are on the floppy side.

I have both a 22mm Vulfix (I forget the model #) and a 25mm Shavemac D01. I like the Vulfix, but the Shavemac is in a whole different league. It's like comparing apples and oranges, IMO.

All things being equal and if money is not an issue, get a Shavemac. The brushes are dense and have significant backbone, and the tips are very soft.

Just my $0.02

Cheers,
Robert

I have a vulvix 403b that I bought from west coast shaving company. It may be floppy and it doesn't bloom as well as an Edwin Jagger or Rooney, but I really enjoy using it for my creams and it feels really nice on the face. Not the softest brush I have but a good go-to brush from day to day.

Mine too (at least jointly with my Silvertip special order), the company has been around long enough to know how to make a great brush and as mentioned earlier Progress Vulfix now own and manufacture Simpson's brushes.

Vulfix are my favorite brushes. Love the 2234. I also have a monstrous 2236 which is pure luxury.

Thanks for the input guys. Since nobody said: "NO GET THE SHAVEMAC INSTEAD", and I like the handle on the brush with the vulfix knot more than shavemac's options, then I think I'm sold!

I find it a little floppy. Get the shortest loft version you can find. As for softness, it's quite good for the price but doesn't really compare with high end silvertips.

Actually, floppy will be good. I currently have a EJBBB which I really like, and I recently got a Semogue 2000 which I'm liking. So something on the other end of the spectrum is great. And this one had a really nice handle:
