Thoughts on TOBS Colognes?

Hey everyone,

I'm a huge fan of GFT colognes and their scents. However, they are pretty pricey. I decided to check out another of the 3T's.

I've noticed TOBS has a nice cologne collection that is much more affordable. I was wondering if anyone could share their thoughts/experience with them and if they were to recommend one, which one it would be.

Thanks!

I currently have TOBS Eton College, Jermyn St, and Sandalwood colognes in my rotation. I really love Eton in summer since it is light, crisp, and a little on the citrus side. My LotH loves Jermyn St more than any cologne in the world. She even goes as far as spraying our bed with it.

TOBS sandalwood is a favorite of mine. Have the edt, aftershave, shaving soap, and did have the shaving cream until I switched to soap. Nice spicy fragrance with a touch of rose. Lasts well.

I like the spicy Mr. Taylor's for crisp autumn days ... an amped up version of RL's Safari. Comes in shaving cream and aftershave, too.

Sandalwood is very classy and gentlemanly, but not nearly as sandalwood-forward or woody as I was expecting. Of course, my previous benchmark for sandalwood was (and remains) MPG'S Santal Noble, which is quite woody, especially on my skin. TOBS is much balmier on me, and the floral notes come through loud and clear, so to speak.

Mr. Taylor is a piece of friggin' genius. I also like Shaving Shop, Sandalwood, and Jermyn Street. I just wish they would offer ALL the colognes as atomizer bottles. Or at least sell atomizers you can put in the bottles.

They sell an atomizer just like the ones on some of their colognes but you have to order them directly. I think they are $7 but massive shipping.

TOBS colognes are some of the best values around. Their sandalwood, as previously stated, is pure class in a bottle. Victorian Limes #74 is the original formula formula for Geo Thomas Royal Yacht which dates from circa 1909.

How long does it last on you? I love Safari but it fades on me after a few hours, so if this lasts a while I might have to get it.

I have found that the sandalwood edt lasts from morning until evening. Before I purchased it for the first time I had read (here) that some folks said it was very short lived. However, thanks to someone smarter than myself, I put some on in the evening than smelled for it when I woke up - and it was there! For at least some I think it is a fragrance that you fail to notice yourself after awhile, but it really is still there.

I prefer Penhaligon's and Trumpers. I am not enamoured with Taylors, Floris or Harris. I am yet to try T&H.

I only have the St James Luxury its a nice fresh scent for a good price I'll be buying some more from the range soon.

I have the sandalwood and just bought an atomizer from amazon. Turns out I didn't meet to transfer bottles. The atomizer cap fit very nicely onto the TOBS bottle!

I bought the Eton College. Nothing wrong with this stuff. I just prefer to wear something else most of the time. That said, It smells much more natural than most of my other bottles of fragrance. It doesn't have that aromatic fake element that most of today's designer stuff has.

What atomizer did you get that the cap fits TOBS bottles? I know that TOBS itself sells one, but it is pricey as I recall.
