What's new

thought I found a New Norfolk Chromium but its not- anybody know?

I found what looked like a New Norfolk Chromium on an antique internet shop site. I was expecting a common bar handle from looking at Mr. Razor's site but what I received was a thin Common bar. The thin handle pattern matches the common bar. The head is a variant of a short comb new. The corner cutouts are longer. There is some brassing on the edge of the cap and some pitting on the handle. There is no indication of replating as far as I can see.

Perhaps, this is a chromium plated 501 special?

Thanks in advanced if you have any info

Thin nickel NEW. Not a very common razor. Congrats!

Most NEWs seems to be long comb, and among the short combs, most have normal handles but some have the thin handles. Among the thin handles, most are gold plated, so finding this one is pretty nice.

Thanks, did not know they came in Nickel. I am fresh out of liquid Nitrogen for my X-ray diffraction analyzer.
