What's new

This is why we can't have nice things

I clean cars for a living. Rental cars to be specific. Once a week we will get a car like this. They had it for 2 weeks. 20230725_113136.jpg20230725_113147.jpg20230725_113232.jpg20230725_113250.jpg20230725_113419.jpg20230725_113714.jpg20230725_113716.jpg20230725_113719.jpg20230725_113724.jpg20230725_113735.jpg

Reminds me of the time years ago when I worked in a resort town, I went out to the car wash and found some D-bag tourist in a rental desperately doing donuts in the dirt lot behind the car wash. Apparently he had been driving somewhere that they were repainting the highway lines and he figured he'd drive over them all and wreck everything. I guess he didn't think it through though and when he got back into town he realized that he had coated the entire wheel well and more with bright yellow paint. After finding out that he couldn't just wash it off he resorted to try and cover up the whole thing with dirt and hope that the rental company wouldn't notice. That's about the point where I saw him. Of course that didn't work either. I hope it cost him thousands.

If you've ever heard the expression "Get a room"...

The worst rental car that I ever cleaned
was full of garbage which was kind of to be expected,
but what impressed me
was the votive candles which had been burned under the front seats,
planted in wax melted into the carpet so that they wouldn't tip over.

After. I had other cars clean so 90/10 rule. I think I'm more mad that they took the OEM tire and took the spare. I would have been able to shave 45 minutes off if it was any other make other than Toyota. The nap on those is so tight. If you need to get smoke smell out of a confined area the new chlorine gas treatments work amazing BTW. We have a commercial model which is nice.

Chlorine gas, Ozone generator?
Charged for the cleaning. I doubt that we will be able to get money for the tire replacements.
Dang who rents out 4Runners?

@bonjing

ClO2. The consumer version below. Star Brite 19970 Auto Odor Eliminator - CLO2 Odor Control System Car Bomb 12 Pcs 7426820852385 | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/283213959107?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=UcpOzg4HSsi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7Vw5VRLDSe2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I have a nuvin air. Expensive but worth every penny.

I have 2 ozone generators. Not enough for bad smoking cars. ClO2 takes less time and works better, the ozone generator hurts my lungs when I get back in them, my 2cents. I can't let cars sit for as long a recommended after O3 treatments. If I had the extra hour it would have gotten the shampooer over the tornador.

Without naming the company outright, the one with the highest stock price right now.

Whisky

ATF. I use all three.

Looks like it was rented to a bunch of Paramedics. We can destroy anything.

If you lock 2 paramedics in a windowless padded room with 2 bowling balls and come back an hour later one of the balls will be missing and the other one will be broken.

Not made for these times.

I've been a little under the weather the past couple day but thanks for the laugh, Adam. :)

Technically none of the major players allow off-roading with the vehicles. Realistically, the 4runner's the best off-road that we carry
sure, but a Corolla is a decent rally car. 90s Sentra even better. a good 'takeover' burnout car? a $19/day Uhaul pickup (there's video out there).
