Thinking about getting a Joris Major.

I was looking to get a Joris Major from Royal Shave but wanted to know if anyone had one and what was there impression of the razor and the brand. I am concerned that this may be an aggressive razor.

Well, I have Muhle-Pinsel r89 open comb (older model that has nothing to do with current r89 close comb), which has same head as this Joris. Your concern is right - It is indeed very aggressive razor, but it has provided me with the closest shave ever, I go with only 2 passes with it, instead of standard 3 with my other razors.

I just posted in the other query about a Joris. I had a Muhle R41 which is the same head as the old R89. It was the most aggressive razor I've shaved with. Gave me BBS shaves but always with some irritation on my neck. I do shave ATG on a 3rd pass though, since I have trouble getting even a DFS shaving WTG and XTG.

Just posted to the other thread, but I'll post here as well. I have the Joris lined, It gives a fantastic shave. I can get BBS in two passes, no irritation. I find it more aggressive than the Pils. Full review coming.

I don't mind a mildly aggressive razor and can deal with two passes as is my current ritual. Three passes are way too much. The quality appears incredible. I will wait foe Stubblefield's review as well. But I may just take the plunge as it appears well worth the investment to own a classic looking razor.
