SAVON DE MARSEILLE OLIVE 2.jpg

My Savon de Marseille 72% olive oil soap arrived from France today - the smell and quality is outstanding and I got a little bar of rose soap which smells heavenly - so got 2100 grams of traditional old-fashioned stuff that is good for a multitude of applications and conditions.
It is moisturising without being greasy and lathers well.
The horseshoe soap is World famous like Nablus or Aleppo soap from Palestine and Syria respectively - all made the same way for millennia.

Reasonable 2 day postage and 300 types of soap - I`ll be shopping there for friends and family for Christmas - I don`t need fancy soap - I`m a simple man.

I love these French soaps. They do large cubes if soap which are superb laundry soaps good for cleaning shirt collars and cleaning stainless steel sinks.

What vendor ?.. frenchsoaps.com ?

Good to hear .... some vendors ship rancid olive oil soaps that have been sitting around way too long .
Yeah got you malocchio I totally agree but very high oil content soaps up to 100% can take a year to mature - like a good cheese - they`re expensive like the Aleppo bay laurel soaps - they can be £40 a kilo - easy - worth it though.
Some of the vintage soaps are hundreds a kilo and are naturally really powerful with only 3 ingredients in them.
The high essential oils preserve it for decades.
I have a tiny hotel bar of olive soap from Rhodes, Greece and it still smells lovely and lathers well with cold water after nearly 30 years - I used it a couple of days ago - fine - does not go mushy and stays hard - perfecto.
Now I can just slice a little green bar off from the loaf.
They are like chalk and cheese compared to harsh, drying, overpowering industrial fragrance scented ( meant for candles etc ) chemical cocktail commercial soaps with 25 dubious ingredients

I don't see the 2100 bar you bought on their website ( ? ) .... also ... have you tried any of the Palestinian olive oil soaps ? ... A few years back I could buy " Socrates " olive oil soap made in Cyprus at the Greek festivals , missing the last several years . Very mild with good lather .

It`s a 2kg horseshoe with 100g rose bar free sorry I didn`t clarify Malocchio.
Got 50/50 bay % laurel / olive Aleppo on order - obviously Nablus - Palestine is delayed ATM too.

I double dog dare you.
I already have - I`m a old Russian Scorpio caveman whose lived in the West Bank and all over the Sahara and M.E. !
I`ve lived in tents for months in a war zone as a 17 year old and 18th Century miller`s cottages with no running water or electricity as a six year old.
How do you shave in the dark with no water with an antique cut-throat in Ramallah - easy - you adapt and survive.
Do it by feel - I was a blacksmith, bladesmith and sports remedial masseur - no probs at all.

How was it? I can’t imagine it tasted any good.
Actually not too bad Frito Ray - it was made of 100% olive oil - it depends on the quality - decent mature soap is not cheap because it has to be stored in stable ideal conditions for 2 years - like a wine or cheese cellar or even a lagering cave underground; like for brewing beers.

Erm about a fiver - it was £30 all inc.

The link opens but you need Google translate - because it`s in French - lemme try French - Fer `a Cheval - horseshoe Marseille soap.

Fer `a Cheval 2kg olive soap

chemical safety data

I`ll fish you another link out malocchio - I think there`s a shop in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

Oh the soapy toothpaste - desperate times - desperate measures - at first - then it grew on me so no need for Colgate anymore but I adore Indian activated charcoal powder for my teeth - I`m crazy man.

Hi malocchio - found a good trad 2.5 kg soap roll that is excellent but different maker called Marius Fabre - don`t know about precise international shipping costs.

Use Google translate buddy.

With soaps - the older and rougher looking ones are the best - handmade and not machine-pressed.
