The OCD Shave

Alright.

Lately, I haven't been getting enough sleep. As a consequence, I find I'm dragging myself out of bed later & later each morning. Naturally, this leaves me with less time to shave.

...so I say to myself, that's it. Has to be a quick shave -- 1 pass & I'm done. There's no time for anything more. But the problem is, I can't seem to stop at 1 pass. I try. Really, I do. But after that first pass is done, I feel the remaining stubble and well ... I just keep going & going until 3+ passes are done. With additional chin buffing. Until I'm pretty close to BBS, or at the very least DFS.

Gents, I have a problem.

Maybe, but you look mmmmarvelous!

You do have a problem... NOT ENOUGH TIME!

Get to bed earlier young man and get a decent night's sleep. That way you will have plenty of time to shave in the morning!

Can you stop with a CCS? It's easy to understand the desire or need for a DFS or BBS during the work week, but what about weekends? I TRY to stop at a CCS on weekends, but somehow, that little patch of unseeable stubble that I can feel with my fingers bugs me....even more so if I actually do stop and not make it smooth.

See? You're just as troubled as I am. Maybe it's contagious.

CCS? Vas es CCS? Close Cut Shave?

It is a virus that comes with every vintage shave soap you purchase.

I have that virus. In spades.

CCS = Close Comfortable Shave

FYI, AFAIK my SRAD combined with my SSAD can sometimes lead to hesitation in the mornings AFAIAC. FWIW, this choice usually allows me to achieve BBS nirvana with my BBLE, if not DFS or at the very least CCS. But then I'm stymied by what to use post-shave cuz of my ASAD and then the LOTH barges in and says *** is taking you so long?

Either I do a complete shave or I do not shave. I don't see it as a problem.

Of course, one could also say that it is better to have shaved a bit than never to have shaved at all.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Nice thought, but often not a realistic option. If you have a job that requires you to be shaved, real life sometimes interferes and you have to do the best you can in the time allotted.

Or, to add to that, even if your job doesn't require you to be shaved at least something is better than nothing. IMO.

I simply shave in the afternoon or evening, because if I did it in the morning before work, I'd have to roll out of bed at 3:00 a.m., and 3:30 is plenty early enough, thank you very much!:001_rolle

It's a simple matter of life's priorities. Just explain to your boss your priorities in life are God, Family, Shaving then work. He should understand.

I'm OCD as well, my medication doesn't work well enough and I can't stop either. In the end, it doesn't matter; you will either use the time to shave well or arrange the pencils on your desk.
