The new Savile Row

I read in another thread somewheres that QED is now offering the Savile Row 3824 with a 54mm loft. As previous owner of a 3824 with a 61mm loft I was very intrigued because I loved, loved, loved my first 3824, but had always wished the loft was shorter. My new 3824 with shorter loft arrived last week and after using this brush for several shaves, I couldn't be happier. The new loft height is much more "comfortable" for me and the stamping printing on the brush has been improved and seems more rugged (I've had issues with older Savile Rows and QED brushes losing lettering from use).

I am not sure if the shorter loft on these brushes is an across the board change, but I know that the 3722 and 3824 are both sportin' shorter hairdos :thumbup1:

I've heard the 3122 and 3120 will come in shorter lofts, too. I never had a problem with the original versions, but the new stuff does sound good.

I bought a SR 3824 with the shorter loft a few weeks ago and have similar feelings about it. Good backbone with the shorter loft, very soft. The ink stamping on the handle does seem different that what was on a SR brush I had a few years ago. Its just a great all around brush and a terrific value at its price point. I see there are other models being offered now with the shorter loft so lots of choices.
