The Mug is Dead, Long Live the Mug

Was having a pretty good shave, no kid-distractions, first shave with Sterling soap (Scots Pine sheep soap, it is a great performer and lathers effortlessly, like it a lot), one of the last before some travel for work, and as I am cleaning up, I drop my mug. It was one of the VDH apothecary mugs from the luxury set and has been my only mug for the entire time I have spent wet shaving--a little less than a year, maybe--and the only thing from the set that I still used. Rocking an OS mug now that i got awhile back.

Tl/dr: Mug. Dropped it, replaced it.

Ummm,.... If you say "The mug is DEAD", why do you follow with "long live the mug"??? :001_huh:

Maybe the death of a mug causes temporary irrationality....

My condolences...:001_unsur

Nice, kind of a forced upgrade, albeit under sad circumstances.

Because, not enough people know French, so we wouldn't have appreciated it as much if he had said "Le roi est mort, vive le roi!"

It's just a common phrase that is used when a king dies and a new king is crowned.

My understanding is that the old mug is dead, long live the new mug...

Exactly. There can only be one mug at once. The others just sort of rove about and have the paparazzi follow them about unless and until Their Appointed Time comes.
