The Colonel

My first Simpsons brush and I'm smitten with the Colonel X2L. What a solid all around performer. It made loads of lather out of my Pre de Provence.

Yeah, I love mine too! I picked one up in Best Badger. As a newbie, it's good to see that someone with more experience thinks it's a good brush. My first was a Tweezerman and I still like it, but after deciding to mainly face-lather, I found it to be a little too scritchy. I guess it would be like going from wool-tweed to cashmere underwear. Anyway, it's my number-one badger from a field of two.

My Colonel hasn't found a soap or cream yet that it doesn't like. The handle is super comfortable too.

It was my second Simpsons, after a Duke2. Both in best. Great brush, and a very versatile one. Huge step up from the Tweezerman. Congrats!

The Colonel was my first brush purchase (the AoS starter came free, as a gift pack from Brooks Bro) and it is still in my rotation today. The handle is perfect (I exclusively face lather), the knot size is perfect and the Best Badger hair has become my baseline for judging all other brushes. This brush's knot is dense enough to get the best from any soap or cream, but it releases that lather effortlessly.

It may be one of the best values from any premium brush manufacturer.

I've been contemplating this brush or the Duke 2. Is the knot pretty well packed on the Colonel? Obviously if I could save a few bucks and get a brush that is pretty similar in performance, I might as well.

It´s on my top 3- above some of the MUCH pricier Simpsons that I got. I just keep coming back to the Colonel. I use hard soaps exclusively.

This was my first brush also - although it got replaced by a DaVinci, I must say the Colonel was easier to build a great lather and a nice comfortable size. Great brush.
