The Bane of the "Use it Up" Approach

AS Balms. There, I said it. I've accumulated a few balms over the years, though not nearly as many as the soaps and creams that were the stock and trade of my AD's at the beginning. The good thing about those is that I can load the heck out of my brush, and use them up relatively quickly. Balms? Not so much. Some absorb quickly, some not. Regardless, there is only so much balm my face can absorb, so I find myself putting a very modest dot of balm on one finger tip, and easily coating my face with it. When you have 100 ml of the stuff, it will take FOREVER to use the bottle up. Looking at the line of balms waiting for use, I can only shake my head. 3017 indeed.

They are excellent when used as hand lotion. I wonder if they are safe for remoisturizing leather? Jackets, gloves, baseball gloves, car seats, steering wheels... Leather may be the untapped resource you're seeking.

I have a bottle of C&E Sienna balm that would take maybe a year to use up if I used it everyday. I used it all last winter and the bottle is still more than 2/3 full.

I have but one baseball glove that needs breaking in.

My problem exactly! I'm sitting on a stash of DR Harris AS Milk, La Toja ASB, La Toja Manantiales ASB, Institut Karite ASB, TOBS Shaving Shop AS Gel, and a couple of others. I wonder what the real shelf life of this stuff is.

If you have a lot you don't think you'll use, you can PIF some of it or get some small containers and sell small portions of it on the BST.

Treat your whole face including forehead, neck, back of the neck, ears. Especially if the balm contains sunscreen.
In any case I try to do this to avoid imbalance. I don't want to have the lower face of a 30 year old and upper face of a wrinkly old man.

Don't miss the opportunity to rinse out the gutters of your house with them - if it has been more than a year the manufacturer will void the gutter warranty. I'd get on it right away!:biggrin1:

Perhaps you can shave other parts of your body?

This gentleman is thinking outside the box! Bob, you've got your answer right here.

The only downside I find to applying sunscreen products to my forehead is when I am exerting myself enough to get a good sweat up. Sweat running down into my eyes is one thing, but a mix of sweat and chemicals is another one all together. A hat is a great sunscreen. There are some products that don't run though.
