Went to an antique mall today and was presented with a choice.
A $25 gold-plated GEM Micromatic, in original lined case, with plated blade bank, or a $20 Box-O-Stuff.
Sometimes, you have to go with quantity over quality.
The stuff had originally been individually priced, as if for a garage sale, but re-tagged at $20 for the whole thing.
From left to right, an open comb Micromatic. This is pretty much what I was mostly interested in. Then a GEM 1912, an Ever-Ready 1912, and then a Star.
A pretty cruddy Segal I have no interest in. I was pleased to see this Gillette Old Type without any bent combs. The handle is FUBAR, but I can have the head plated and match it up with something vintage-looking. I have no idea what that long brass handle thing on the right is.
A close-up of the Old baseplate. Shouldn't there be patent numbers there?
You know...I could go back for that gold Micromatic at a later date...
