Thayer's question

Thayers's lavender has no alcohol, the original Thayer's does but very little it seems. Is using the original going to dry out my skin and defeat the purpose of the aftershave moisturizing my face?
I like the Lavender by Thayer's but want to try the original.

I've only used the "lemon" & it has some alcohol, but it doesn't dry me out at all. And there is no sting, so the volume of alcohol is pretty low me thinks.

I use the original and it doesn't dry my face, it actually moisturizes it. ABV is only 10%. Obviously YMMV because it depends on skin type, if you are normal to oily skin, I don't see it being a problem at all.

Thanks, I have somewhat sensitive skin but the lavender works fine , I just wanted to give the original a try. I also noticed the TN Dickenson also has alcohol in it.

What kind of alcohol? Not all alcohols are drying. There are some fatty alcohols (like cetyl) which actually act as emollients.

I don't think the ingredients of every Thayer's product are the same, so you have to check out each one. Some are no "alcohol".

The one I am familiar with is the Thayer's Rose Petal. It is "alcohol free". Interesting thing is that Thayer's Rose Petal also has very little WH in it. However, Thayer's claims that their WH is of a super concentrated variety because it is "extracted" from the bark, and not distilled. At least this is what is said on the Rose Petal bottle.
