Thater Premium Boar, it happened to me too…

Gorgeous Butterscotch Beehive! What knot is going in to replace the failed boar? Do you need help selecting a knot? Whats the diameter of the Boar!

I've had one for years and still trying to break it in.
It's so pathetic they haven't fixed the issue despite admitting years ago it was a problem with the gluing of the knot.

It is amazing that a $17.00 Semogue brush would outlast a $90.00 Thater boar brush.
The Semogue SOC just totally blows it away.
I have the Thater 4125/2 in both fan and bulb that are great brushes, along with a couple of other Thater brushes.
I emailed them and don't know what to expect from them.
What are others experience with problem?
I don't know about another knot, I haven't thought about it, the handle is a good one.
I have been thinking of a Simpson brush, maybe it is time.

If you're not sure how to tackle it, ship it off to Rudy Vey and have him stuff a shavemac 2Band in it. It might end up being your favorite brush.

Is this the same company that @Chan Eil Whiskers had a time with? If not, I apologize. But that thread went on for MONTHS as I recall. I know that language seemed to be a barrier...
@FarmerTan I don't know if it is but there was a lot of gnashing of teeth about it at the time. If it was a car every airbag would have needed replacement!

happened to me too, they did take the brush back (offered a new one but I declined)
Odd how Thater found themselves unable to make a boar brush correctly. They got it very wrong, but to be fair this can happen and may not appear in testing. The real crime here was how poorly and rigidly they handled the issue with customers and I hope they learned from that and modyblu receives a prompt refund with no demand to ship back the defective brush.
That white ring at the base isn't soap and makes me wonder about a glue issue. It looks like some type of reaction happened with the glue. BTW, I think it's closer to broke in. Another few months, maybe.
I did a quick zoom in on that. Strange.
