Tarnish removal

So my first eBay score on a razor is a Henckels 72 1/2. It doesn't say Friodur anywhere on it, or INOX, or anything. I was lead to believe by some research that they didn't use those markings until post WW2, though I could be completely wrong. The razor has zero rust or pitting, only a bit of tarnish (black that gets rainbow colored as you move it around with light refraction).

I honed it up on my DMT1.2k and took it to 3µm and 1µm lapping film. Followed it up on 1µm with copy paper underneath, followed by cloth then leather stropping. Thing is ridiculously sharp, a little scary even, but w/e it'll mellow out after a few shaves.

So onto the point and question. I'd like to buff out some of that tarnish without damaging the razor. I'm guessing no sand paper is required since I'm not taking out any rust or pitting. Is there a preferred method that doesn't cause any damage? Should I just use a microfiber cloth and buff the thing for hours? Is there a chemical solution that isn't too caustic / damaging that would buff it super fast?

I've mostly only seen stuff within the threads about rust & pit removal, along with buffing with a wheel on a rotary tool, unfortunately I do not yet have a rotary tool so some hand options would be nice.

I'm also wanting to rescale the thing, since it doesn't close perfectly center and the square tip wants to cut into the wedge and I'd rather not dull up the tip (maybe it was done on purpose? The scales don't have any markings (left?) but look like the yellow-ish ones that Henckels used often. Not sure in what I'd want to rescale them, hell, I may just repair the ones they have, though I'm kind of set on making a new pair (since I've never done it and it sounds fun).

I just found the sticky for polishing right after posting this, along with a similar thread posted recently, now don't I feel silly =P
