TAKING pics of your razors. Do you do it?

Hi Gents: I hope all is well with you & your families. Ever since I discovered & entered the DE world on April 2012, I continue to thoroughly enjoy my DE/SE journey. I enjoy trying different razors, blades, soaps, creams, and a few brushes.

However... I did not think that I would enjoy taking pics of my shaving gear for the SOTD section of the B&B forum. I love all the beautiful pics of everyone's SOTD photos. We have a lot of talented photographers in B&B and I am definitely not one of them.

So... how 'bout you? Did you ever think that you would be taking pics of your shaving gear? Part of the fun of this hobby is "gathering up" shaving gear and proudly taking pics of it. So... am I the only one? What's your story?

I don't go all out like some people do, but I have started taking a pic pretty much every morning (or night) with my iPhone and uploading the photo. There is a small shaving group on AOM that has a thread where a few of us post our daily shaves. I looked a bit at the SOTD thread here, but it seems like it is kind of theme based and with all the outstanding photographers here, mine would look out of place.

Hi Jeff: My photo skills are very mediocre but it does not stop me from posting up my SOTD pics. I am just having fun.

I took pictures of all my brushes, razors, and mugs. It's all part of the fun of modern wet shaving. It also forced me to learn more about how to use my camera. Like how to take a close up shot without using the flash. Lots of fun.

Yes I do, when I have the time anyway. I've always been into photography, and actually look forward to shaving every day since stumbling onto B&B and wet shaving, so why not combine the two. I'm not always good about keeping up with the theme either, but I like checking out what kind of shot each of the guys come up with each day. You're right Mel, some very talented photographers in the SOTD threads...don't sell yourself short, I've seen some nice photos of yours in there.

If someone told me a year ago that I would be posting photos that were taken in my bathroom I would have told them they were insane.

Off to the "terlet" to take some more photos.... Oye....

I dont take many pics of shave items, Im not a very good photographer, I really have only taken a few pics of certain razors. I would take more but I dont want to hear all the jokes about how Im now taking pics of my shaving stuff by the occupants of my home, I already get teased about my passion for old razors but its all in good fun.

I wish I was a tenth the photographer of some of the artisans on this site. There are some folks on here that post simple amazing photos. I have a reasonably nice camera, but I can't seem to get the knack of turning out great photos. There is so much information available about photography, it is kind of overwhelming. I do post a few pics here and there. Hopefully I will learn more and post more, higher quality shots in the future.
