I agree the Tabac scent is very subjective (I personally LOVE the scent but it's too strong so I "cut" my Tabac with some Woolfat).
The performance however, is top-notch! It definitely requires much more water than most other soaps to become super slick and reach the top-tier performance. Otherwise, the lather looks great but is not actually ready for the shave.
I know soaps like MdC are rated as "top-tier" but I just found it to be a saponified lump of coconut oil with some fragrance. It severely dried out my skin. I rate MdC at Arko level (not in a good way), just with a nicer scent!
