Tabac EDC

Got some based on the scent of the soap. The EDC is almost a dead ringer.

Wife's first impression: Don't leave that monster bottle on the counter!

Wife's second impression: It smells nice. Kind of like Ivory soap, but manly.

Wife's third impression: On you it smells like Aqua-Net, but I like it.

It's a hit!

I had a woman at work say she had to back away from me because I smelled so good. The cool part was she was totally serious. It was about the best compliment I could get that morning (or any morning). Too bad my wife thinks it smells like baby powder.

Got my bottle last week. Mmmm..lovely scent. Wifey likes it a lot. Problem is, it doesn't come with a spray attachment and I'm so paranoid that i'll put too much on that it only lasts half a day. 3 drops on some facial cotton and dab on chest and the sides of the pipes. Still, I love it and I wanna go get the last bottle next week!

I decanted it into a little atomizer to fix that. Works so much better than splashing it on. Lasts much longer this way.

If you want to increase the longevity of your Tabac at least twofold, decant into an atomizer. VAST difference in staying power for me.

I've been meaning to decant the EdC too. I like the aftershave splash, but the cologne feels awkward to me. I'll have to do that.

uh...I got my hands on a 75cc (ml?) atomizer. Took me an awful lot of shaking the bottle to get half of it filled. Good thing to have really since the EDC bottle took a flying leap off the shelf and the cap broke (has since been glued back)

After an excellent shave with a Ball End Tech loaded with a Shark, assisted by some doctored VDH Deluxe soap and the VDH boar brush (gave the badgers the night off) I spritzed on the Tabac EDC, decanted to a one dollar drugstore plastic spray bottle.

Ran it past the bride, who pronounced it "boozy but nice".

I'm so proud to smell like Dean Martin, I could just bust!

Ah yes, Tabac. This, indeed, is a delightful fragrance.

I have been stymied in my attempt to describe the fragrance. The best I can come up with is that Tabac is clean, fresh and soapy. And it lasts.

My only problem with it, as it seems to be with many of you, is the bottle. I don't particularly care for atomizers; however, I do prefer Tabac in a standard aftershave bottle.

Either way, for me, this is one of the best aftershaves around.

In addition to clean, fresh and soapy, I would add baby powder and a touch of vanilla. All in a good way. It's really great stuff!

Every time I put my nose in the soap and wonder how the EDC would smell (and if I'd LIKE to smell like it), I end up saying "No." Tabac is a unique and complex scent but I just can't get past the floral note. Maybe it's my age, but I can't see myself wearing it.

Isn't the "natural spray" with an atomizer, or is that just something different?

Edit: Are there any samples/decants available? There's a 45% discount (and free shipping) at fragrancex, so I'm contemplating just getting that. The soap is on its way so I don't even know how it smells like .
