Sweater care

Hey how do you guys take care of your sweaters? Specifically, how to you remove those little lint balls that kind of form on them and how do you store your sweaters? I am just getting ready to put all mine away for the season and was wondering if there is a better way to store them than just to fold 'em and stack 'em on the top shelf. I'm guessing using hangers would stretch them?

Hand wash with Woolite, lay flat to dry, steam with lint remover attachment, and away goes zee fuzzballs...

Hangers BAD (stretching & odd shoulder creases). Fold 'em and stack 'em.

hand wash with woolite, flat surface dry, steam, fold store with cedar chips (to keep moths away).

Dry clean when you take them out of storage or hand wash and flat surface dry again.

How exactly do you "hand wash" without stretching it out of shape? Also how do you dry flat? Someone told me to place it on a flat surface with a towel under and both items smelled mildewy after (pardon my ignorance)

Agitate gently in Woolite bath. Don't wring dry (you can always roll it up in a towel and squeeze gently to help it along). Best to hang dry across a few hangers to avoid stretching. If you have a drying rack, lay it flat across the top.

As for fuzz, pretty much all knits pill with wear. When it gets bad, put them out to pasture with your old jeans.
