Sunday Evening Drink

Relaxing and enjoying a generous measure of 16 yr. old Lagavulin SMW whilst watching The Godfather. SMWBO is out at work (against my wishes) so making the most of an enforced solitude.

The Lagavulin is damn smooth!

We had a friend over last night for dinner- drank a little wine and then sampled some whiskies. Tonight we have roast chicken and vegetables on the menu- I guess that another bottle of red would be in order :001_cool:

"Got Shoes?"
I made some Sunday gravy and will make some meatballs and throw some sweet sausage in it and let that simmer for about 4 hours.

Afterwards, I think I'll have a nice Manhattan using Canadian Club 8 year old sherry cask.

Btw Rocco, nice touch with Dimple. That was a fave of my dad's.

That and Chivas were always on hand. :thumbup1:

When I saw your post this morning, I was thinking it was from last Sunday. Then I saw it was from today and thought you were a drunk, until I finally realized you are in NZ, 14 hours ahead of me!

Hmm, you have me thinking now. Its going to be raining all day, and my fiancee and I are planning on watching Men Who Stare at Goats. Might have to be a Scotch night! Got a bottle of The Glenivet 12 that I haven't cracked into yet either.

On nice evenings I'll make up a gin & tonic for SWMBO and myself. I add a bit of lime to it (the stuff I use is a mix of lime juice and lime oil).

Yes, the time difference sometimes catches me out with some of the posts!

Enjoy The Glenlivet.

I am grilling a nice marinated pork loin later. I think that a nice red wine is in order with that but I have not decided which. If Rivgal is not in the mood for a glass of wine then perhaps a splash of Van Winkle 12 or Woodford Reserve will be in order.

Cheers,

Doug
