Strop Shoppe- Couldn't Resist the Sale

So I got these-

Special Edition London Morning with Tallow
Limited Edition - 1887 with Tallow and Lanolin
Limited Edition - Vivace with Tallow & Lanolin
Special Edition Baker St with Tallow
Special Edition Rosemary Mint with Tallow

I think you'll be very pleased with your purchase. I've used the Baket Street twice and think this soap is excellent.

Their soap is great but their site sucks. I keep getting an error when trying to add things to my cart.

^^Same two I've never tried -- 1887 and Rosemary Mint. I hope to read some reviews/comparisons! Particularly the Limited two, Vivace vs. 1887. (I'm crazy about the Vivace).
(Well... sort of a third I've not tried: I've only tried the no-tallow version of London Morning, but at least I know the scent. And didn't miss the tallow).

Curse SSAD! I just bought Baker St and Barbershoppe because of this thread and the 20% off discount. I like the fact that there is a travel size option; I like have small quantities to burn through.

EDIT: What kind of consistency is their soap? I was just looking at pictures and the sticker says extra soft; is it more like a cream than a soap? I have a tin of Black Tie and it's a very hard puck.

I have the Baker Street & Russian Tea. Both excellent. Yes, they are extra soft. Probably what I would call a croap. Consistency is somewhat like Cella, maybe a just a tad softer, but I can easily swirl a soft brush on it.

The Baker St., at least, comes in a few different formulations (at least a couple, I think!) -- I'm pretty sure they don't all have the same consistency; which version of Baker St. did you get?
I think the RUssian Tea only comes one way, as part of their Limited Edition series. I would have gotten that had not The Strop Shoppe just come out with Vivace when I was ready to place the order.

The OP listed Special Edition Baker St with Tallow, and that's the one I have as well. I was assuming that's the one Starkicker was wondering about, but you know what they say about assuming. :001_tongu I used it this morning and now I'm trying to remember exactly how soft it is. It's pretty pliable, though. You can easily shove your thumb into it.

Some of them, like the "double butter"/no tallow London Morning, is about like vaseline. I think the Special Edition Baker St is soft, yes, but I think not 'croap' soft. I haven't tried to shove my thumb through it though.

Good stuff, you're going to love these soaps. It's hard to tell how soft these soaps are, I never stuck my finger in them either

They are definitely softer than a hard puck, but harder than a dense cream. I have the 3oz travel containers, and I can definitely see how the brush displaces the product while loading it.

the barbershoppe SE with tallow is one of my best soaps. I rate it as high as MDC ADP, Panna Crema, Tabac etc. just outstdanding. It is a soft soap but very dense, the huge container is fantastic to lather in and a great value.

I have Black Tie which I bought in a lot from someone. Mine has the official Strop Shoppe sticker on it, but came in a metal tin and the soap is very very hard. All the sticker says is Tallow Test so I might have a wayward prototype of some sort. Still smells amazing though.

I just ordered three special edition soaps with tallow and the sampler 5-pk, based on this and another B&B thread. I noted in the descriptions that these soaps are made to order, which may take three weeks before they are delivered. Has anyone experienced an inordinate delay after ordering these soaps from the Strop Shoppe? Now, I am primarily using Mike's, which forms a thick, protective lather, and a stick and cream of Irisch Moos for travel. How would you compare the Strop Shoppe special edition with tallow soaps to Mike's and Irisch Moos?

Just order 1887 and London Morning and their samples. My SAD is way out of control now. I also ordered Panna Crema this week. I think it might be time to TRY to shut buying down for a bit. I got a lot of soap now. My only saving grace is some of it's samples, but still I probably don't NEED soap for 4-5 years.
