Still in computer pre-school, Did I do it right?

I received a notice to add a member to the friends list. I clicked on and followed the directions to do this. I still get the notification message to complete the process. Did I do something wrong? If I did, how do I rectify it and add that name?.

Thanks for any help. Maybe in a year or so I'll get out of computer pre-school, and can get into computer kindergarten.

Try logging out, then logging back in....usually clears stuff like that.
