Stephan's Spice, Anyone?

Stephan's family of aftershaves for the most part doesn't get much attention on this board. Recently I got a bottle of the Lime which I'll be trying out for the following week. I'm thinking of buying the Spice aftershave. Anyone have an option of it as in good, bad or run away?

Thanks,

I was wondering about this brand as well. The lilac aftershave looks appealing, I wonder how it stacks up against "The Veg". Good question, David.

The Spice is pretty nice. Has a sort of generic American barbershoppy scent. Very wearable.

Be sure to try mixing the lime with things like bay rum and old spice. It works great for that!

Tried the Lime today and liked it a lot. So did my lady barber, (see my other thread).

BTW, does the Spice remind you of any other aftershave?

Glad you liked the lime! Stephan's is far superior to the Pinaud lime selections IMHO. They all smell like a lime lolipop to me, and I'm just not a fan.

Does the Spice remind me of anything else? Well, I just went in for a sniff, and much to my chagrin, it's Master Spice, not Stephan's, so I can't help you there. Master Spice and Topaz are both pretty good tho, and you can probably pick them up in Cambridge at Venus Beauty Supply.

Stephan's Spicy is quite close to Master's Topaz--just a little different. I like it, it doesn't project "loudly" and you can use a good amount without worrying about blowing the hair back of the people around you. Has a nice soothing finish to it. I'd go ahead and pick it up--you'll probably like it.

FYI, I don't buy Masters' aftershaves at Venus anymore. The owner jacked up the prices to the point where it's much cheaper to buy on-line.
Also they don't sell Stephan.

Marty, I like Topaz a lot. What I'll end up doing is getting a bottle with my next online order. BTW, it's been hard to find reviews about this aftershave.

I use Stephan 320 all the time. I found it at the local barber college. I would not be afraid to try that whole line if they are as good as 320.

Well, I always order from Appleton Barber supply. Just put together a decent sized order and you get the shipping averaged down nicely. they have Master, Jeris, Pinaud, and Stephan's

Yes Appleton Barber Supply does have some great prices and shipping can be cheap.

Also Atlanta Barber can be another choice.

Keep in mind that one supplier can beat out the other depending on what and how much you are planning to buy.

I just send them e-mail on Friday, hoping to get an answer that yes... they'll be able to help me with my chronic pain of not getting enough good bay rums over here.

How is the Stephen's Bay Rum, BTW?

I liked it however the scent seem to fade for me.

My favorite bay rum is the Master brand.

Same here, Master seems to have all the right stuff, but even it fades quite quickly (although, it says in the packaging "add during the day for a pick me up" or similar).

I've made few blends with different bay rums, but so far, the only scent I've managed to stay in those are the ones of clove and vetiver. Maybe I should just buy some pure bay oil and add that to the mix.

I can't imagine the shipping costs you pay to Finland.

Have you tried mixing Master and Pinuad Bay Rums?

Haven't tried that yet, but came close couple of days back and noticed that it could work. Tried Lucky Tiger, Master and Pinaud mixed together. The Lucky Tiger didn't add anything to Master, but when I added the Pinaud in the end, things started to happen.

I love Stephan's Bay Rum. My barber uses it for the back of my neck. I bought it on the bay and its been my #1 AS ever since.
