SR 3118 or 3120 for face lathering?

Hi All,

I am about to pull the trigger on a SR 3120. I tried bowl lathering but realized I like face lathering better. Can I do better than a 3120 for $85? For those those own a 3118 and 3120 do you find the 3118 a bit too small to hold?

Thanks in advance.

Can't help you on the 3120, but I have the 3118 and I think it's perfect for face lathering. It's not too small for me, though I do like small brushes.

Hi Indie,
I might suggest that you look at the SR 3122...the shorter loft of these new brushes keep the knot from splaying and the handle size and knot do make for a nice bursh. In the shorter loft I have the 3120 and the 3122 and I like the 3122 best...you will like either.
Best,
John

I have an SR3318 (same knot, different handle), and use it exclusively for face lathering (I never bowl lather). I use it when I use shaving sticks and then my SR3722 for jars. The handle is on the small side, but I have small hands, so it doesn't really bother me. The 3X18 series are neat little brushes, but if you are only going to get one, I would get the 3X20 or 3X22 if you can afford it. Neither is too big for face lathering in my opinion.

I had a nice conversation with Charles at QED several days ago while ordering a 3120. I've learned a lot by talking with him and enjoy the experience almost as much as using his brushes.
