What's new

Splurged on some more TGQ soaps

I HAD to do it.

Toasted Almond
Provence Lavender
Armani Code
Blackberry Sage

I'll tell you how it works out. I have no doubt they will be stellar.

I already love:

Highlander
Oak & Moss
Cavendish Black
Leatherneck

I'm sure you'll love them. I had some of the Provence Lavender. Loved it. I'm particularly intrigued by the Blackberry Sage. Make sure you let us know how you like them.

I got a sample of the Blackberry Sage, I highly enjoy it  I have full pucks of Lime Margarita and Leatherneck, so I don't think you can go wrong with TGQ.

Blackberry Sage, Desert Ironwood, and Oak and Moss, in that order are the best scents out there. The Blackberry Sage is fantastic and always gives a excellent shave that I hope to never be without.

I love the TGQ soaps as well (bay with sweet orange and toasted almond are both wonderful) :w00t:

Be carefull with the Orange Patchouli unless you really love patchouli. The pathcouli smell lingered in my brush for a full week after using the soap just a few times, even though I was using the same brush on other creams and soaps as well.

Thanks Gaj for that update. I'm one of those odd persons who love the smell of patchoulli. I know its not for everyone. I'm curious, how pronounced was the orange fragrance. (I love that fragrance too.) The ultimate orange fragrance I've experienced is QED's Wild Orange.

Nice splurge.

I managed to get a couple of her soaps during the Christmas sale. I get some of my closest shaves with TGQ soaps.

I'd like to hear what you think of the Provence Lavender.

Do i need to give TGQ another try?!

i picked up 3 pucks and after using the Leatherneck a few times with dismal results i stowed them away. All i got was airy thin lather with little slip and no cushion.

Yes you do Josh. The only glycerin soaps that I have used are from TGQ. I found that I needed to modify my lathering technique to get optimal results.

I found that this video really helped me with glycerin soaps. Really really really load up your brush. Basically make lather right on top of the puck. It takes more effort then say, AOS or Arko but the shaves are very nice. I don't use glycerin soaps everyday because they don't leave my face feeling as moisturized as my other soaps.

I just ordered more Ogallala soap and bought a puck of Cade...but I will for sure be trying the TGQ soaps in the next month or two...thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I do not care much for most glycerin soaps, that is why I absolutely love their creams!! The Leatherneck and the Bay Rum are pretty amazing.

The orange scent was quite apparent also, not just a background scent or hint, she really knows how to mix her scents well. In my opinion, the orange scent in the orange and patchouli was just as significant as the orange scent in the bay rum with sweet orange. If you love patchouli I doubt you could do better than TGQ's offering.
