Splotchy Rash on one side of face sometimes after shaving - anyone else?

So I get this splotchy rash/ breakout of dime and quarter sized red marks after I shave sometimes, usually when I use Proraso Green Tub ( new formulation) -- it goes up on to my forehead just above eyebrows and goes onto my cheek, but never my neck -- lasts for 4-6 hours, then goes away, or I help it away sometimes with Hydrocortizone Cream or Benedryl.

I have been checked for shingles and came back negative --- just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced a one side of the face kinda rash/ breakout.

Dermatologist believes its an allergy to Badger hair brushes, since it has never happened using boar bristle brushes, I personally believe its menthol or eucalyptus.

People have all manner of different sensitivities. You could have one to the soap and/or the brush. Hard to say which.

Sometimes strong scents can have a negative effect..try a cream or soap with lavender or unscented..the badger allergy could be true..I have EVERY allergy to any type of grass..green lawn type...also I'm allergic to down pillows (goose feathers)

Needless to say, I would stop using the Proraso Green if I was you. That should determine if it is the soap or not. If you are still getting it, maybe try a synthetic brush? There are some really good synthetic brushes now on the market...
