Spieck Description

Can someone explain Speick to me? I get the impression that it has a Brute or Stetson smell. To me, all general aftershaves have the same spicy, old man smell to them.

I hear awesome things about Speick, but don't want to order it and hate it. I'm only 25 and am not interested in smelling like an old man.

In the meantime, I have Mama Bear's Dublin Tweed on the way. SUPER excited!

The cream doesn't have an "old man" smell at all, to me at least.

Somewhat floral (in a good way), in a classic way.

Speick smells nothing like that rancid leftover from the 70s that is Brut.

It has a herbally citrus (faint hint of oranges) scent to it that actually smells like you spent some real money on it.

Brut is just alcohol and fragrance, Speick actually does what real AS is supposed to; soothe, heal and tone. It also lightly moisturises.

In addition, many AS scents don't linger for very long; that's what Brut and Colognes are for.

I don't know Brut or Stetson but Speick rox for me.
Oddly, I only really get enthused by the AS splash. The balm is bland and medicine-y. The Cologne finishes a bit sweet. The SC is nice. fresh and barbery.
But the AS splash RULEZ.
I'm not botanically conversant, so I can't discuss whatever special, licensed.. etc plant they harvest, but the specific aroma in the AS is as good as it gets for me for refreshment in morning post-shaving wake-up. Think of juniper but euro.
This is not geezer spice and British vetiver/lavender mix.
goodnews/badnews - the fragrance does not linger. gone in 20 mins max.
I'm not the biggest fragrance guy, but I do use some of the more iconic scents (Musgo Real, T&H Grafton, C&E Nomad, Guerlain heritage, 4711) and as a day after day "lets get up and carry on" inspiration Speick dominates.
buy a bottle. don't like it? PM me, I'll buy the rest.

I'd have to say no on both counts of the Stetson and Brute. The Splash has a very masculine scent, but not like those. I'd call it dry and botanical, a lot like some of the flowers one would find in the mountains, but not sweet. I'm not sure that description is vague enough :001_rolle. Hmm, well I'm only 24 and I find the scent to be great, but I can see how one would imagine it as being something an older gentleman would wear, though I would call it mature, not old, as it reminds me more of something my father would wear, whereas I know my Grandfather wore Brute. I say, just buy it. If nothing else, it is great for the skin and honestly 100ml goes pretty fast.

Speick Aftershave Splash smells nothing like Brut (which I actually like). Speick has a unique smell that doesn't smell anything like any other aftershave I have run across. It smell great!! :001_tt1::001_tt2:

Here we go again with that "old man smell" again... :001_rolle

"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years." -- Mark Twain

It's Speick, not Spieck! I didn't wanted to sound mean or something.
Speick has a nice floral, spicy scent to it. I don't think it smells like an old guy. Tabac is a candidate for that!
But the Speick Aftershave Lotion(splash) is by far the best of the line. Nice floral, orange, gentleman's scent!
You should try it.

Yeah, speick is VERY different. I didn't like it at first, but the more I used the cream the more I liked it. Also the aftershave splash is killer- very, very soothing and effective. Have yet to try the deodorant or EDT tho.
