What's new

Spicebomb?

Any thoughts on this stuff? I smelled it at Sephora. Wife liked it. Didn't think it smelled like every other EDT out there. But pretty expensive.

At Sephora, if you ask, they will typically make you up a sample. That way you can try it for yourself, on your own body.

I did that recently with Bvlgari Black. Turns out it didn't last at all on me.

I personally am not a fan. It was on my want list for a while and I came close to blind buying it a few times. I stopped by our Sephora last week, which seems to only have the bare minimum selection, and they had recently gotten this one in. I was quick to catch a couple of wrist sprays to take it for a test drive and I was even quicker to wash it off in the bathroom. Just wasnt for me. I dont like 1 Million or London either though and its often compared to both. But if your lady likes it and if it isnt going to break your bank, I would go for it.

I am definitely a fan. Know that the dry down becomes a bit sweeter. I like the dry down, but some people (inexplicably) complain about a sweet frag.

For what it's worth, it has been a pretty well received scent by the younger crowd as Basenotes since its introduction early this year. As a relatively new scent from a company that is not as mainstream as Chanel, Dior, etc, it is not yet yet available at any of the discount sites.

It starts out pretty sweet like many other modern scents. It settles into something less cloying, but quite spicey. I like it, but it feels a bit too youthful for my tastes. Feels more like "going out" scent to me.

How young, in your estimation? I'm 38, and the only cologne I've owned that felt way too young was One Million.

That's quite a bit cheaper. Can you compare and contrast the two? (That sounds like a homework assignment, sorry.)

You can totally wear Spicebomb. One Million is totally different. Spicebomb is a bit sweet, but not like One Million is. Also, if your wife likes it, that is pretty important. You can always order a 5ml decant from Garry before deciding on a full bottle. That will give you plenty of wearings to decide. He has them for $6 which is a pretty solid deal. And I agree that is is pretty unique for a department store frag. Keep in mind too, even though it is expensive, it is pretty potent and will last quite some time as you will only need a couple sprays each wearing.

I like it, I wouldn't call it young but based on the reviews here it seems sweet = young, if that is your definition of young then maybe it is, ymmv. I'm in my mid thirties and have no problem wearing it out or to work. I've received many compliments, in fact I walked across the street to Starbucks a few minutes after putting it on yesterday and received a compliment from the barista and the woman in line behind me.
