Tried out my Speick stick for the first time this AM. Love the scent, the soap was sorta meh, might be better if in puck form. Do I mill or melt and pour?

Yeah, right after posting I went to the review and saw it is tallow-based. Need to mill. Thanks
Just curious, but what happens if you try to melt a tallow?

good question, but my bet is that it has something in common with frying bacon
But most likely, it will curl up into a ball....
Just remember that just because a soap is vegetable based, does not mean you can microwave it. 99% of commercial shave soaps cannot be microwaved or melted whether they are tallow based or not.
Only glycerin based soaps that were melt and pour soaps to begin with can be melted. (i.e. Col. Conk, VDH, Mama Bear, etc.)

Mill it cover with hot water for 3-5 minutes pour off water and form press it into the mug by hand.
Keep working with it in stick form. Once you get the hang of it, there are few better.
