Can anyone point me to a few sources for decent pens? My SWMBO wants a Levenger Pennington checkbook cover for Christmas. I wanted to pick up a pen to go with it, but the Levenger pens seem a little overpriced to me. i was hoping for something un-shabby in the $30-$40 range...

I've bought from hisnibs and swisher. Both are A+ sellers
She doesn't want a Levenger brand pen, does she? If so, they're the only ones who sell them.

Not necessarily. I thought the Levenger pens were good looking and it would be convenient to order the pen at the same time. But $50 for the checkbook cover AND $70 for the pen was a little rich for me. Especially when my own favorite (Cross) can be had on the Bay for a good price.

I've purchased almost all of my pens and custom nibs through Classic Pens (http://www.nibs.com/). Another source for steeply discounted pens is through Pam at Oscar Braun (http://www.oscarbraunpens.com/).
Good advice above. As for Levengers, they are overpriced IMHO, but you can often find discontinued styles in the sale section of the Levenger site in your price range.
