Semogue 1438 (loosing bristles--what's going on with some of Semogue's brushes?)
Arko Stick, bowl mixed
Bali BD176 (Classify this razor as efficient at cleaving stubble and mild on one's skin.)
Astra Superior Platinum (4)

Post shave: Thin--no thinner, gossamer thin--layer of Vaseline between warm-water moistened hands; mix/blend by rubbing between palms; and apply with palms and fingers to that DFS substrate. Post-shave irritation? Never hachi, G.I.

Good shave, new to Captain's Choice. The scent was on the milder side for a Bay Rum, more of a Pimenta Racemosa scent, no discernible Clove fragrance. Over all very enjoyable Bay Rum shave.

>> Mistura May Madness <<

Preshave: shower, frigid tap water
Brush: Semogue Owners Club Mistura cherry wood handle
Soap: Phoenix and Beau ~ Trafalgar
Razor: Karve CB Stainless Steel "F"-plate
Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword China (7)
Post shave: frigid tap water, Nivea Cool Sensitive psb.

Three close passes, which resulted in a BBS skin feel (which will last quite some time). Caught some minor irritation on my neck, maybe I was not concentrated enough anymore whilst shaving (very late evening shave) and my angle was a bit off on my troublespots (or the blade's sharpness has faded, Idk).

But overall, a splendid smooth shave though.

Have some great shaves, y'all!

Beautiful lather from the soap! Very pleasant scent, thickly creamy, and super slick too!
Shave with razor paired with this long-ignored blade was terrific! I remember during initial use the performance was very good and now double confirmed. It was a very smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable 3passes + a pick-up for a mostly bbs finish without any issues. Especially comfortable was the atg on the chin & upper lips area. Aftershaves were awesome!

Razor: BBS-1
Blade: Voskhod (1)
Brush: Doug Korn D7V
Lather: Blue Devil Shaving Co. Lemonwood

It has been way too long, since I had the chance to post a SOTD picture - but a new soap and a new background image is certainly a great excuse to do so again ;)

Big shout-out to Craig from Blue Devil Shaving Co. - wonderful soap, that is dead easy to lather and produces some heavanly lather (see lather pic). The scent is fresh and clear - paired with a Doug Korn brush and the BBS-1 it really can't get much better than this!

I hope you all have a fantastic Friday

I had to change the blade from Ladas Super Stainless over to Rapira Super Stainless, because, Ladas Super Stainless couldn't mow down my thick tough stubble for a second shave and the blade died after first used.... WOW!!

Nearly ALL my sample blades are gone, looking forward to trying out the Minora Stainless soon
