Awesome shave today!
Was it the super slick and very pleasant scented new soap?
Was it because I strop the well-used blade on a chrome-oxide laced linen strop trying to copy @ouchyfoot?
Perhaps a combination of all factors?
Regardless, today's shave was so smooth and so comfortable for 3passes even for the troublesome atg pass on chin and lips using this GEM without any issues for a bbs to dfs result. Excellent aftershaves...Marvelous shave session. Rating 10/10!

*Another wonderful shave, this one
with one of my favorite lathers:
Stirling Iced Pineapple. Topped it
off with a spritz of Club de Nuit to
continue the pineapple theme.

Now I'm ready to do battle with the world.

Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Pony 26mm Synth
Soap: Colonel Conk Bay Rum
Post: generic Witch Hazel, Bootlegger's EL Dorado

This is the best offering of Derby that I have tried to date. Smooth, doesn't feel overly sharp but gets the job done without a fuzz. So the question is how consistent is the current production line of Derby and how long will a single blade hold up? If I get to four shaves in this quality than it is a viable buying option.

I'm still not fully convinced of Synths but the Pony is the best for me out of the bunch that I have. It is soft, splays easy and doesn't fling lather around when face lathering as some of the others do.
