What's new

Sorry, I know you guys get hundreds of these, but i need recomendations

I´ll try to be as specific as I can. I´ve been using a Vulfix super badger for quite some time now (this is my only high end brush, the others are boars). This was working great for me as I was primarily a cream guy. However, i´ve been falling in love with soaps lately and it takes forever to get only an okay lather out of my Vulfix. My boar works pretty good but I really want to be able to face lather daily and my skin is starting to feel the beating. (i have sensitive skin)

So....
I´m looking for a medium size badger brush that is firm (not as firm as a boar, but definitely on the firmer side), but has soft tips (this is important) so l will be able to face lather using soaps easily. I would like to try an stay under about 60 bucks or so but that number isn´t set in stone

Thanks for all your help

For my money I'd go with the Rooney 3/1 in Super. You just can't beat the quality for the price. To coin a phrase " The biggest bang for the buck". It is my favorite brush.

Shavemac for me - happen to have a photo handy...

but I haven't tried a Rooney and that seems to be where the opinion lies.

Looks like I need a Rooney

miner,

The Shavemac D01 groupbuy is, qualitywise, a better brush. However, the Rooney 3/1 in super or best is an outstanding deal if you take price/performance ratio. It just beats the Shavemac in the price department so much that the small performance hit is neglectible. The two brushes are comparable but the D01 is denser and softer by a tiny bit but also quite a bit more expensive.

I guess a Rooney is something I have to try before I die!! Or else I will never know and I have a serious AD to deal with.

Thanks you so much for your support I will go out and buy a Rooney immediately.

I just got this one used on another forum for $45, and it is the perfect brush for what you're describing. Thirdeye has steered you right!

Miner,

I can also highly recommend Rooney. The Super Silvertip makes for an amazing brush. I like the 1/1, personally.
