Something more firm compared to my FS Silvertip?

I got a FS Silvertip brush:

Base: 3.7cm
Width of knot at base: 2.8cm
Width of knot at top: 6.2cm
Length of knot: 5.2cm

Coming from a synth its soft on the face but rather fluffy, lacks some body. This is specially true when swirling on the soap as with the synth i just had to swirl for about 10 seconds and with this 60-90 seconds as the brush does not scratch so much on the soap as did the synth. Is this normal on badgers? If the shape is key, what should i be looking for, a shorter loft?

Thanks!

The pic and the specs you provided do not seem to match. If the knot is at 28/52, it would have more than enough backbone to kill any soap.
I suggest you measure the physical brush for knot/loft just to confirm that you got the brush you wanted.

Strange.
My FS finest, at 24/53, whip up lather (MWF) as easily as my omega synth.
My Whippeddog at 24/50 has more than enough backbone to murder any hard soap.

Maybe, in your case, it is a matter of breaking-it-in for a week or so.

you said it. you came from a synthetic which has super backbone, too much for my taste. the FS silvertips are soft and not very floppy but..... some have complaints or issues.
You my friend are in need of a finest badger knot. or shorten the loft on your brush. remove and drill should be easy to remove delicately since its rather new. or just give it time but it won't get firmer. I think you're setting the density or backbond area rather high coming from a synthetic knot.
also, silvertips do not load (pick upsoap) as easily as others due to the very soft tips
