I was watching this as an auction, hoping it would go for under a couple hundred, when it looks like someone offered the seller $100 to end it, which I thought about doing, but always felt like that was kind of cheating.

Lesson learned, always put in a bid so it's harder to cancel an auction.... or cheat.

Yeah, a lesson to all eBay sellers. An offer to end early, no matter the reason, is almost ALWAYS an attempt to get you to sell something for less than it's worth.

From the post, it is odd that it sold for 100 bucks back then too.

The seller of this eBay auction claimed that this ornate razor is a Gillette. This seems like a wonderfully detailed razor, more the work of a jeweler than a mass-production process. Is anyone aware of Gillette actually making such fancy razors?

BTW, the razor sold for ~$100.
